Review:
The wonderful ladies at Eunique Beauty were kind enough to send over their brand new Egg Hunt palette for us to review. This palette got a huge reaction on our Instagram, you guys loved it! You would expect an Easter Egg themed palette to be all the regular pastels, but they really did an interesting spin on it. I love how even ‘the Hoppening’, the one pressed glitter shade in the palette, looks exactly like that fake easter grass that you put in baskets!
Mattes: These matte shadows are so incredibly creamy. You barely have to tap your brush for full pigmentation and the colors go on so smoothly and opaque, even hard to achieve purples and yellows like “Treasure Hunt” and “Jelly Bean”. These mattes are all so different, but can all work together, too. I absolutely love “Treasure Hunt”, I have nothing like it in my collection. These blend beautifully and stay on all day without fading or creasing. I did a look with only “April Fresh” and “Do or Dye”, and it lasted all day perfectly.
Shimmers: The shimmer formula is INCREDIBLE. It’s one of the best I’ve ever tried. The actually feel wet, and can be used with a dry brush, wet brush, or finger. One little swipe gives you full pigment and coverage. These look really metallic on the eyes but blend out nicely. I did a one shadow look with the shade Hide nor Hare and it blended into my crease nicely. I also did a look with 24 Carrot and Eggstravaganza on my lids and Easter Egg on my lower lash line. They’re all so stunning and unique.
Glitter: There is one pressed glitter shade in the palette, which is called The Hoppening. This is the perfect shade of the green easter grass you put in baskets. I love this glitter formula. As you can see in the swatch, it’s really opaque, and even tho it’s glitter, it’s really fine, so it fully covers the area you press it on. It’s a pretty sticky formula, but I always use a glitter primer to be safe.
Below are swatches in cool toned artificial light, and warm toned natural light. They’re also at two different angles so you could see the shifts in the shimmer shades.
Overall: This is a really fun palette with a cute concept and great quality shadows! It’s one of my new favorites, and I still have so many looks I want to try with it. I’m blown away by Eunique Beauty’s eyeshadow formula, and look forward to more of their creative releases in the future!
